Stephen Shepherd

Stephen is currently attending graduate school in neurobiology at Duke University. His interests and influences include music of all genres and 20th century writing, notably the Beat Poets. Stephen writes purely for catharsis, but finds some intellectual justification in the attempt to crystallize emotional experience in language. He has published an eponymous chapbook, now out-of-print; participated in the performance poetry show Seven Hearts; and directed Son of a Piss and Vinegar Woman. His poems have been printed in Beaux Arts 1994, 1995 and 1996, and the Totem 1998 and 2000.
